We, Julia and Dieter Hölscher, a married couple, opened in June 2008 our Café & Restaurant “Lahemaa Kohvikann”.

After having lived and worked for almost 15 years in St.Petersburg, we decided in 2007 to relocate to Estonia. We had liked this country and especially the “land of bays” from the very first time we came to spend time here.

Julia is a native of St.Petersburg, Russia and Dieter was born in county “Calenberg” not far from Hannover, Germany.

Both of us speak several languages and we are not only available for some advice concerning our gastronomic offerings but also for a question, here or there, about this heavenly place on earth we live at.

The name “Lahemaa Kohvikann” translates literally into English as “coffeepot in the land of bays”.
“Lahemaa” ( land of bays ) is the lovely region here in northern Estonia with the Lahemaa National Park and the Baltic Sea, close by.

With the word “coffeepot”, we hope to capture a little bit of the cosiness of the Baltic tradition to sit together for a cup with friends.

Our Café & Restaurant is situated just a short distance from the visitors-centre of the Lahemaa National Park at Palmse Mansion in Palmse village.
It is our aim to serve our guests with a choice selection of beverages and truly tasty and satisfying food.

Our house offers seating for 60 guests indoors and for 50 guests on our
summer-terrace.

Around the year we offer various seasonal or regional specials, but you will always find something new on our regular menu anyway.
Should you plan a small or larger banquet, we are happy to advice and have prepared some suggestions for special menus. ( see Special Offers )

We wish you a good time at our place and hope you enjoy it here.
Should there be any question or suggestion from your side, we will be glad to answer you.
